Hi everyone, I decided my first post on my blog will be used to emphasize my mindset that I will carry on throughout my blog. Whatever type of athlete you are... high school, collegiate, weekend warrior, cross-fit, professional,, the KEY is you have to FUEL YOURSELF.
When you are competitive athlete you care about how you perform. To consistently perform and recovery from high-intensity activities you need to be fueled. If you are under-eating and not fueling yourself you run risk of burning out. It will take you longer to recovery between sessions, and inadequate nutrition paired high intensity puts you at risk for injury. The first rule in competing is you have to be able to even compete. Don't be on the sidelines of your seasons/events.
Nutrition can't fully prevent injury, but it can decrease your risk and that's good enough for me. For more information on this topic of fueling yourself check out my first podcast episode.
